Screening of microorganisms capable to remove odorous compounds from poultry manure

AbstractTwenty-one microorganisms isolated from soil, compost or poultry manure or supplied by the Pure Culture Collection (Lodz, PL) were used for removal of odorous compds. from the poultry manure environment. After the microbial activi-ty in the decreasing the volatile compds., antagonistic interactions between microorganisms, the growth rate in me dium supplemented with poultry manure as well as the growth inhibition by the manure environment were taken into account, the B. licheniformis, B. megaterium, Pseudomonas sp., P. fluorescens, Corynebacterium glutamicum, Leuconostoc mesenteroides and Candida inconspicua microrganisms were selected for the bioprepn.
